{"id":1393,"date":"2012-04-23T11:52:43","date_gmt":"2012-04-23T11:52:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/?p=1393"},"modified":"2012-04-23T11:58:52","modified_gmt":"2012-04-23T11:58:52","slug":"sontes-granola-bars","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/?p=1393","title":{"rendered":"Sonte&#8217;s Granola Bars"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When making up your weekly batch of Granola, have another bowl on hand to mix up the ingredients for these Granola Bars so you can have a healthy, nutritious snack at work, at school or at play!<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1394\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1394\" style=\"width: 230px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/?attachment_id=1394\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1394\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1394\" title=\"Granola Bars\" src=\"http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/Granola-Bars.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"230\" height=\"238\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1394\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Fruit and Nut Filled Granola Bars<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>1. 4 cup Old Fashioned Rolled Oats<br \/>\n2. 3\/4 cup Brown Sugar<br \/>\n3. 1\/2 cup Wheat Germ<br \/>\n4. 1\/4 cup Ground Flax Seed<br \/>\n5. 1\/2 cup Sunflower Seeds<br \/>\n6. 1\/2 cup Pumpkin Seeds<br \/>\n7. 1\/4 cup Sesame Seeds<br \/>\n8. 2 generous teaspoons Cinnamon<br \/>\n9. 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour<br \/>\n10. 1\/2 cup Flour<br \/>\n11. 3\/4 cup Raisins (soaked in hot water for 10 minutes, then drained well)<br \/>\n12. 1 cup Coconut<br \/>\n13. 1 cup chopped Dried Apricots (optional)<\/p>\n<p>3\/4 cup Honey<br \/>\n2 Eggs<br \/>\n1\/2 cup Vegetable Oil<br \/>\n3\/4 cup Applesauce<br \/>\n1 Tablespoon Vanilla<\/p>\n<p>2 cups whole Blanched Almonds<\/p>\n<p>Preheat oven to 350F (175C)<br \/>\nPrepare a 11x15x1\u00a0inch\u00a0(28x38x2.5cm) \u00a0baking tray by spraying lightly with vegetable oil spray.<\/p>\n<p>Combine first 12 ingredients together in a large bowl.<br \/>\nIn small mixing bowl, combine honey, eggs, vegetable oil, applesauce and vanilla.<br \/>\nStir liquid ingredients into dry ingredients until well blended.<br \/>\nPress into prepared pan.<br \/>\nBake in 350F oven for 12 minutes.<br \/>\nRemove from oven, sprinkle evenly with whole almonds, gently press the almonds into the granola bars.<\/p>\n<p>Return to oven and continue baking for 12 to 17 minutes.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Score into bars and let cool for 30 minutes.<br \/>\nCut into bars and allow to cool completely.<\/p>\n<p>Store in airtight container.<\/p>\n<p>NOTE: Luke loves chocolate so when they are finished baking, I sprinkle with 200g Chocolate Chunks, return to turned off oven for 2 minutes, remove from oven and spread melted chocolate to cover the whole pan of granola bars.<br \/>\nLooking for a yummy yogurt topping to replace the chocolate&#8230;.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When making up your weekly batch of Granola, have another bowl on hand to mix up the ingredients for these Granola Bars so you can have a healthy, nutritious snack at work, at school or at play!
