I had taken ground chicken out of the freezer last night which I thought I could easily sub it into this\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kraftrecipes.com\/recipes\/tortilla-soup-107849.aspx?fb_action_ids=10151152545366148&amp;fb_action_types=og.likes&amp;fb_source=aggregation&amp;fb_aggregation_id=288381481237582\" target=\"blank\">Tortilla Soup<\/a> recipe.<br \/>\nI got through the first couple of steps and realized this soup was going NOWHERE fast! So I added some of this, a bit of that to liven it up. Ironically, it is called Tortilla Soup but I didn&#8217;t have any in stock but that&#8217;s okay, I had a fanging for Bannock anyway and surely one ought not consume both Tortilla Chips and Bannock in the same meal?<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1597\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1597\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/?attachment_id=1597\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1597\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1597\" alt=\"Tortilla Soup topped with Shredded Pepper Jack, Sliced Black Olives and Chopped Green Onions\" src=\"http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/Tortilla-Soup-300x274.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"274\" srcset=\"http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/Tortilla-Soup-300x274.jpg 300w, http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/Tortilla-Soup-624x571.jpg 624w, http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/Tortilla-Soup.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1597\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tortilla Soup topped with Shredded Pepper Jack, Sliced Black Olives and Chopped Green Onions<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>2 Tablespoons Italian Dressing<br \/>\n2 cloves Garlic, minced<br \/>\n1 lb Ground Chicken<br \/>\n6 cups Water<br \/>\n3 McCormick Chicken Boullion Cubes (all vegetable ingredients!)<br \/>\n1 28-ounce can Diced Tomatoes<br \/>\n1 each Green, Yellow Pepper, chopped<br \/>\n1 cup Corn Niblets<br \/>\n1 19-ounce can Black Beans, rinsed and drained<br \/>\n1 1\/2 teaspoons ground Cumin<br \/>\n1 teaspoon Sea Salt<br \/>\n2 teaspoons dried Oregano<br \/>\nPinch of Paprika<br \/>\nPepper, to taste<br \/>\nShredded Pepper Jack Cheese<br \/>\nSliced Black Olives, garnish<br \/>\nChopped Green Onion, garnish<br \/>\nFresh Cilantro, garnish<br \/>\nTortilla Chips, crushed<\/p>\n<p>In large stock pot heat Italian dressing over medium-high heat and add minced garlic; cook for 2 minutes stirring often.<br \/>\nAdd ground chicken and scramble fry until cooked through and slightly browned.<br \/>\nAdd water, stock, diced tomatoes, chopped peppers, corn niblets, black beans, spices and bring to a boil.<br \/>\nReduce heat and simmer for an hour.<br \/>\nServe \u00a0topped with shredded pepper Jack, chopped green onions, sliced black olives and fresh cilantro.<br \/>\nSprinkle with Tortilla Chips, if desired.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A tantalizing soup recipe arrived in my inbox this morning and seeing how it is a cold winter day, \u00a0a bowl of soup would definitely hit the spot!
