Why don&#8217;t I just make bread from scratch, you ask? Let&#8217;s face it, I just am not tall enough, nor are my counters low enough to ensure comfortable Kneading&#8230;and bread dough begs to be kneaded for 8-10 minutes. For these two reasons I have decided to let my machine do the hard work for me. That isn&#8217;t cheating, is it?<\/p>\n<p>I really need to unsubscribe from <a href=\"http:\/\/chocolatechocolateandmore.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Chocolate, Chocolate and More<\/a> on Facebook because everyday something comes through the feed that I just HAVE to make! Heaven knows I simply do not have the time or the people on hand to eat all of the stuff I want to make&#8230;<br \/>\nThat said, I am delighted to have had this recipe for <a href=\"http:\/\/chocolatechocolateandmore.com\/2013\/04\/light-and-fluffy-dinner-rolls\/\" target=\"_blank\">Light and Fluffy Dinner Rolls<\/a> come through because I often make soups and stews which are so much better with home made bread or buns.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1863\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1863\" style=\"width: 625px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/?attachment_id=1863\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1863\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-1863\" alt=\"Light and Fluffy Dinner Rolls\" src=\"http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/Dinner-Rolls-1024x768.jpg\" width=\"625\" height=\"468\" srcset=\"http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/Dinner-Rolls-1024x768.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/Dinner-Rolls-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/Dinner-Rolls-624x468.jpg 624w, http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/Dinner-Rolls.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 625px) 100vw, 625px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1863\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Super Light and Fluffy Dinner Rolls<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>1 1\/2 cups Hot Water, from the tap<br \/>\n1\/3 (65g) Vegetable Shortening, cubed<br \/>\n1\/4 c Sugar<br \/>\n1 teaspoon Salt<br \/>\n1 Egg, well beaten<br \/>\n4 cups Flour<br \/>\n2 1\/4 teaspoons Active Dry Yeast \u00a0(1 pkg)<\/p>\n<p>In bread mixer pan add ingredients in order listed.<br \/>\nUse the Dough setting on your Bread Maker ( usually 1 1\/2 hours)<br \/>\nTurn dough out onto lightly flour surface and knead into a smooth ball.<br \/>\nPortion dough evenly into 12 &#8211; 15 pieces.<br \/>\nShape each portion into a ball and place in greased 9X13&#8243; pan.<br \/>\nCover lightly with oiled plastic wrap or L-Foil and let rise until doubled, about 45 minutes.<br \/>\nBake in preheated 375F oven for about 15 &#8211; 18 minutes, until golden on top and sounds hollow when you tap on the surface.<br \/>\nRemove from oven, immediately brush with butter.<br \/>\nTurn out onto wire rack to cool completely.<\/p>\n<p>* I used a 9X13&#8243; but portioned my dough for 16 pieces instead of 12! I put the extra dough into 2 lil ramekins and baked along side the big pan of rolls.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>If making by Hand:<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span>In bowl of your mixer, combine 2 cups flour, sugar, salt and yeast.<br \/>\nUse paddle attachment and add hot water.<br \/>\nMix on Low speed until all combined.<br \/>\nAdd shortening and egg, continuing to stir until well blended.<br \/>\nSwitch to dough hook and add remaining flour.<br \/>\nKnead dough for 10 minutes.<br \/>\nDough will be very soft and sticky.<br \/>\nTransfer dough to a large greased bowl, turning dough to coat.<br \/>\nCover with a damp towel and let rise in a warm location until doubled in size.<br \/>\nTurn dough out onto a floured surface.<br \/>\nRoll dough into smooth ball, cut into four equal pieces and then those four pieces into three pieces each to give you a total of 12 rolls.<br \/>\nShape each piece into a ball and place in a greased 9&#215;13&#8243; pan.<br \/>\nCover with towel and let rise again until doubled, about 45 minutes.<br \/>\nBake as directed above.<\/p>\n<p>Yield: 12- 18 Dinner Rolls<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have recently discovered the Dough setting on my Breadmaker and am putting it to good use!
