I googled &#8220;falafel recipes&#8221; and\u00a0ended up at Food.com where I found this recipe by<a href=\"http:\/\/www.food.com\/recipe\/grilled-falafel-138111\/\" target=\"_blank\"> justcallmetoni<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I read a few of the reviews and admittedly, the first time I made these I didn&#8217;t have any cilantro or parsley in the house! I subbed in a bit of dried parsley and a bit of coriander; they were amazing! Second go around, I had cilantro but no parsley&#8230;I really need to get my act together! I had my doubts about the green falafel. I thought my boys might not like it but they proved me wrong. The next time I make this it is my goal to have both fresh parsley and fresh cilantro on hand!<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes I make falafel and serve it with <a href=\"http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/?p=1996\/ target=\">Bombay Rice<\/a> and a green Vegetable; sometimes I make it and serve it in a wrap. You can make this recipe and use the resulting falafels quite successfully, either way!<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2213\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2213\" style=\"width: 474px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/?attachment_id=2213\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2213\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-2213\" src=\"http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC03953-1005x1024.jpg\" alt=\"falafel wrap\" width=\"474\" height=\"482\" srcset=\"http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC03953-1005x1024.jpg 1005w, http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC03953-294x300.jpg 294w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 474px) 100vw, 474px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2213\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Falafel Wrap<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>1 Tbsp (15ml) Olive Oil<br \/>\n1 small Onion, finely\u00a0diced<br \/>\n1 clove Garlic, minced<br \/>\n1 &#8211; 14 oz (398ml) \u00a0can Chick Peas<br \/>\n1 cup (250 ml) loosely packed Cilantro<br \/>\n1 cup (250 ml) loosely packed Parsley<br \/>\n1 cup (250ml) cooked Brown Rice*<br \/>\n1 teaspoon (5 ml) Curry Powder<br \/>\n1\/4 teaspoon (1 ml) Cayenne Pepper<br \/>\n1 Tablespoon (15 ml) Fresh Lemon Juice<br \/>\n3\/4 cup (175ml) Breadcrumbs<\/p>\n<p>Serve alongside Rice and Veg for a complete Meal<br \/>\nor<br \/>\nServe in a Wrap or Pita with Lettuce, Tomato, Cucumber, Tzatziki<\/p>\n<p><strong>Method:<\/strong><br \/>\nHeat oil in a skillet over med-high heat.<br \/>\nSaute onion for a minute or two; add garlic and continue saut\u00e9ing until onion is soft and garlic is golden, about 4 minutes, total.<br \/>\nLet cool.<br \/>\nPlace sauteed onion in food processor; add chickpeas and pulse to coarsely chop the beans.<br \/>\nAdd cilantro, parsley, rice, curry and cayenne; pulse until all ingredients are finely chopped and evenly distributed.<br \/>\nTurn the mixture into a bowl.<br \/>\nStir in lemon juice and 1\/4 cup (50 ml) of the breadcrumbs.<br \/>\nPour remaining breadcrumbs onto a plate.<br \/>\nWith your hands, mix chickpea mixture until it is like a moist dough.<br \/>\nScooping up 1\/4 cup (50ml) at a time, form the chickpea mixture into patties.<br \/>\nCoat lightly in the remaining breadcrumbs.<br \/>\nRepeat, making 8 &#8211; 3 inch (7.5cm) patties.<br \/>\nHeat \u00a0cast iron skillet.<br \/>\nBrush lightly with oil.<br \/>\nPlace the patties in the skillet, about an inch (2.5 cm) apart.<br \/>\nCook 4 minutes, until lightly browned.<br \/>\nTurn and cook another 4 minutes, until second side is lightly browned.<\/p>\n<p>Serve immediately alongside Bombay Rice and a Green Vegetable of your choice or in a Wrap or a Pita with thinly sliced Tomatoes, Cucumber, Shredded Lettuce and Tzatziki.<\/p>\n<p>Serves 4 &#8211; 6<\/p>\n<p>*I \u00a0have used plain white rice because it is what I had\u00a0on hand.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2215\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2215\" style=\"width: 604px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/?attachment_id=2215\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2215\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2215\" src=\"http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/falafel-and-bombay-rice.jpg\" alt=\"falafel and bombay rice with wilted spinach\" width=\"604\" height=\"581\" srcset=\"http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/falafel-and-bombay-rice.jpg 604w, http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/falafel-and-bombay-rice-300x288.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 604px) 100vw, 604px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2215\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Falafel and Bombay Rice with Wilted Spinach<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Or you can just throw &#8217;em on top of some Salad!
