I gave it a wash, along with another pear from the fruit bowl and an \u00a0apple, peeled &#8217;em, chopped &#8217;em up and made Muffins. You can bet he will now eat that pear!<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_268\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-268\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-268\" href=\"http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/?attachment_id=268\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-268\" title=\"Ginger Pear Streusel Muffins\" src=\"http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_2816-300x223.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"223\" srcset=\"http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_2816-300x223.jpg 300w, http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_2816.jpg 536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-268\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ginger Pear Streusel Muffins with Toasted Walnuts<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\nPreheat oven to 400F.<br \/>\nLine 10 muffin cups with paper liners.*<\/p>\n<p>2 cups Flour<br \/>\n1 Tablespoon Baking Powder<br \/>\n1 teaspoon Salt<br \/>\n1\/3 cup Sugar<br \/>\n1 teaspoon Cinnamon<\/p>\n<p>2 Pears, washed, peeled, cored and coarsely chopped<br \/>\n1 Apples, washed, peeled, cored and coarsely chopped<\/p>\n<p>1 large Egg, lightly beaten<br \/>\n3\/4 cup Milk<br \/>\n1\/2 Vegetable Oil<br \/>\n1 Tablespoon grated Ginger<br \/>\n1 teaspoon \u00a0Vanilla<\/p>\n<p><strong>Streusel Topping<\/strong><br \/>\n1\/4 cup Flour<br \/>\n2 Tablespoon Brown Sugar<br \/>\n1\/4 teaspoon Cinnamon<br \/>\n2 Tablespoons Butter<br \/>\n1 cup chopped Walnuts<\/p>\n<p>In small mixing bowl prepare the Streusel Topping:<br \/>\nCombine flour, brown sugar and cinnamon.<br \/>\nCut in butter using a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.<br \/>\nStir in chopped walnuts; set aside.<\/p>\n<p>In large mixing bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and cinnamon.<br \/>\nStir in the chopped fruit to coat with flour.<br \/>\nMake a well in the centre and set aside.<\/p>\n<p>In small mixing combine egg, milk (or soy milk) vegetable oil (or a combination of vegetable oil and melted butter), vanilla and grated ginger.<\/p>\n<p>Pour liquid ingredients all at once into the well in the centre of the dry ingredients and stir just until combined. The batter will be lumpy.<\/p>\n<p>Using a 5 ounce scoop fill each of the paper lined muffin cups.<br \/>\nTop with Streusel Topping.<br \/>\nFill each of unused muffin cups with a few tablespoons of water.<\/p>\n<p>Bake in preheated 400F oven for 10 minutes, rotate pans and continue baking for another 10 minutes or until golden brown and pick inserted in centre comes out clean.<br \/>\nRemove from oven and cool on racks for 10 minutes.<br \/>\nCarefully pour water out of unused muffin cups then turn muffins out to cool completely on wire racks.<\/p>\n<p>* I like my muffins a lil bigger so fill them to the top of the paper liners.
