I started making it for Girl Guide camps and soon it was accompanying us on all our family camping trips and picnics!<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_483\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-483\" style=\"width: 130px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/?attachment_id=483\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-483\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-483\" title=\"Farmhand Cake\" src=\"http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/Farmhand-Cake-71.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"130\" height=\"98\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-483\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Simple Farmhand Cake<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>1 cup Butter<br \/>\n2 cups Sugar<br \/>\n4 &#8211; 6 Eggs (depending on size of eggs)<br \/>\n1 1\/2 teaspoon Almond Extract<br \/>\n1 teaspoon Vanilla<br \/>\n2 cups Flour<br \/>\npinch of Salt<br \/>\n2 &#8211; 3 cup Fruit Pie Filling<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Apple Pie Filling, Cherry Pie Filling, Blueberry Pie Filling, 6 Passion Fruit, Lemon Curd<\/p>\n<p>Preheat oven to 350F.<br \/>\nNo need to grease Jelly Roll pan, but get it out now and have it ready.<\/p>\n<p>In large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.<br \/>\nAdd well beaten eggs, one at a time and continue beating.<br \/>\nStir in\u00a0 flavourings.<br \/>\nStir in flour and salt;\u00a0beat well, until smooth and creamy looking.<\/p>\n<p>Spread 1\/2 to 2\/3 of batter over the bottom of an ungreased jelly roll pan.<\/p>\n<p>Top with Fruit Filling &#8211; Apple Pie Filling, Cherry Pie Filling, Blueberry Pie Filling, 6 Passion Fruit, Lemon Curd or fruit filling of your choice, being careful not to mix the two together.<\/p>\n<p>Spoon dollops of remaining batter on top and spread out as evenly as possible.<\/p>\n<p>Bake in 350F oven for 30 to 40 minutes (start checking it at 25 mins) or until the top feels dry to the touch and springy.<\/p>\n<p>While still warm, sift a little icing sugar over top of cake OR mis a small amount of milk and icing sugar into a thin glaze and drizzle over top.<\/p>\n<p>To store &#8211; Do NOT cover &#8211; Just leave in pantry, will keep for one week. &lt;&#8212;NOT, it will be well and truly gone before a week is up!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have been making Farmhand Cake for years!
