{"id":741,"date":"2011-12-13T11:20:55","date_gmt":"2011-12-13T11:20:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/?p=741"},"modified":"2011-12-13T11:30:15","modified_gmt":"2011-12-13T11:30:15","slug":"bread-pudding-with-rum-sauce","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/?p=741","title":{"rendered":"Bread Pudding with Rum Sauce"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I decided to make use of a loaf of bread I found lurking in the freezer and since my menu plan for the day did not include something that called for a side of Stuffing, I made good old fashioned Bread Pudding.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_742\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-742\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/?attachment_id=742\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-742\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-742\" title=\"Bread Pudding with Rum Sauce\" src=\"http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5082-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"Bread Pudding with Rum Sauce\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5082-1024x768.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5082-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-742\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Classic Bread Pudding with Rum Sauce<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>2 cups Milk (or soy milk)<br \/>\n1\/4 cup Butter<br \/>\n1\/2 Brown Sugar<br \/>\n1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon<br \/>\n1\/4 teaspoon Salt<br \/>\n2 Eggs, slightly beaten<br \/>\n6 cups dry Bread Cubes<br \/>\n1\/2 cup Rasins (optional)<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Rum Sauce<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n1 cup packed Brown Sugar<br \/>\n1\/2 cup Butter<br \/>\n3 &#8211; 4 Tablespoons Bundaberg Rum<\/p>\n<p>Preheat oven to 350F.<br \/>\nLightly spray an 8&#8243;square (2 litre) casserole dish with vegetable oil spray [The casserole dish needs fit into a 9&#215;13 (22cmx33cm)]Place bread cubes in a large mixing bowl.<\/p>\n<p>In small saucepan, heat milk and 1\/4 cup butter over medium heat until butter is melted and milk is hot.<br \/>\nIn a small bowl whisk together sugar, cinnamon, salt and eggs; pour over bread cubes and stir to coat cubes.<br \/>\nStir in milk mixture.<br \/>\nPout into prepared baking dish.<br \/>\nPlace casserole in a 9&#215;13 (22cmx33cm) pan; pour boiling water until 1 inch deep.<\/p>\n<p>Bake uncovered 40 &#8211;
