I must have loved them because I have been a vegetarian for 30 years and the memory of a reuben sandwich still sets my mouth watering!<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_959\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-959\" style=\"width: 319px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/?attachment_id=959\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-959\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-959\" title=\"Reuben Sandwich\" src=\"http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/19378_235246376147_677911147_3747316_6540644_n.jpg\" alt=\"Reuben Sandwich\" width=\"319\" height=\"168\" srcset=\"http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/19378_235246376147_677911147_3747316_6540644_n.jpg 319w, http:\/\/aysontespli.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/19378_235246376147_677911147_3747316_6540644_n-300x157.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 319px) 100vw, 319px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-959\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Classic Reuben<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>1\/3 cup Thousand Island Dressing or Dijon Mustard<br \/>\n12 slices Rye Bread<br \/>\n6 &#8211; 1 ounce slices of Swiss Cheese<br \/>\n3\/4 lb (350g) thinly sliced cooked Corned Beef<br \/>\n1 &#8211; 16ounce (498ml) can Sauerkraut, well drained (drained and squeezed)<br \/>\n1\/4 cup Margarine or butter, softened<\/p>\n<p>Set oven to Warm or 200F<\/p>\n<p>Set large 2 large skillets on to heat.<br \/>\nThrow drained sauerkraut into one skillet and heat through; turn heat off, leaving sauerkraut in warm pan.<br \/>\nThrow corned beef into the other skillet and heat through; transfer to heatproof bowl.<br \/>\nWipe out the skillet.<\/p>\n<p>Spread thousand island dressing or dijon mustard over 6 slices of bread.<br \/>\nPlace a slice of swiss cheese on each of the dressed slices of bread.<br \/>\nTop with warmed corned beef and warmed sauerkraut.<br \/>\nTop with remaining bread slices.<br \/>\nSpread the top slice of rye bread with a bit of butter or margarine.<br \/>\nPlace sandwiches, buttered side down in skillet, spread butter or margarine over top slices of bread.<br \/>\nGrill over low-medium heat until bottoms are golden brown.<br \/>\nTurn and cook until bottoms are golden brown and cheese is melted.<\/p>\n<p>If cooking a large quantity, transfer cooked sandwiches to a wire rack on baking tray and place in warm oven.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Reuben sandwiches are a memorable experience and you either love them, or hate them.
